This summer will be scifi and geek heaven for moviegoers when flicks filled with superheroes, aliens, vampires, fairy tales and zombies hit the screen. Let’s take a look at 13 of the most anticipated sff movies coming this summer to theaters across Orlando.
Number 9 in the list (by opening date) is G.I. Joe: Retaliation:
The follow-up to the hit “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra” has added three fan favorite actors – Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis, and more action than ever. When nearly all the members of the team are killed in an ambush, Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), Lady Jaye (Adrienne Palicki), and Flint (D.J. Cotrona) are determined to find out who is responsible and to get justice. To those ends they enlist the help of the original G.I. Joe (Bruce Willis).
The official synopsis reads:
In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe characters.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation will explode onto theater screens on June 29, 2012.
