Grab your tissues and get ready to experience a heartbreaking loss with the Duggar family tonight.
Tonight on the season finale of 19 Kids and Counting, Jim Bob and Michelle find out that Michelle has miscarried what would be their 20th child and we watch as they go through the emotions of dealing with such a tragic loss.
Last December we found out that Michelle and Jim Bob went to the Dr. for a routine ultra sound, and discovered that their baby had no heartbeat and Michelle would end up having a miscarriage.
Tonight’s episode, the ninth season finale, deals with them finding out, trying to come to terms with it, and breaking the news to the 19 other children.
The worst part for Michelle was telling the other children, and in tonight’s show, Michelle breaks down as she tells her children.
“Trying to just keep my composure long enough for us to be able to get everybody together was vey hard.” Michelle said.
“I feel like my heart broke telling my children,” says Michelle. “They have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most difficult. The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with Him.”
This is the second miscarriage that Michelle has had. She had one shortly after having her first child.
The Duggar family found out that the baby she miscarried in December was a girl, and they named her Jubilee Shalom.
The Duggar family had a memorial service for Jubilee Shalom, and Michelle read a beautiful letter that she wrote to Jubilee, at the service. You can listen to her read the letter here.
They even posted pictures of Jubilee’s tiny hands and feet with Michelle’s hands.
The Duggars have been a somewhat controversial family in the past.
Many feel that they should stop having children, and that Michelle is too old to continue having babies. They feel that after having their 19th child, Josie, who was delivered early and had some medical issues, Michelle is risking her life and that the children need their mother.
The Duggar family feels that if the Lord continues to bless them with children, they will be happy to have them.
After Michelle’s miscarriage, the family spent a lot of time talking, and praying, and focusing on the other children to help everyone deal with the loss.
Tonight on the season finale of 19 Kids and Counting we will see exactly what they went through.
