The forecast for this Sunday, at the historic Marietta Square, calls for 0% percent chance of rain and 100% chance of great food and fun for the 19th annual Taste of Marietta from 11-7. There will be more than 85 vendors, live music, and games for the kids. A perfect event for the whole family.
For 19 years, folks have come from near and far to take part in the event that pairs the gorgeous atmosphere of historic Marietta Square, with the best flavors that Marietta has to offer. More than 85 vendors will be on hand this year, offering samples from their venues ranging in price from $.50 to $4.50. The festival is a cash-based event, but if you don’t get a chance to stop at the bank, no worries. There will be 4 portable ATM’s, available in separate locations, so that you’ll have access to the cash to you need to sample all that your heart desires. With restaurants and caterers spanning the flavor spectrum from A-to-Z: Alisha’s Kitchen to Zoe’s Bonz, there is bound to be something inspiring for every palate.
In addition to the plethora of food tents and carts, there will be live entertainment showcased on 4 different stages. The schedule of entertainment includes the lineup of popular favorites; Hurricane Wilson, Hoozier Daddy, Banks and Shane and several more.
Entertainment for younger festival-goers can be found on Kids Alley. This area will feature Moonwalks, face-painting, crafts, and games. Some of the events will have a small fee to participate. Of course, the kids (and kids at heart) always find fun searching out the free trinkets and marketing swag that usually accompanies these types of events.
Free parking is available at the Cobb County Parking Deck and the Mill Street lot. The historic Marietta Trolley will also be offering free rides from Marietta Middle School to the Mill Street drop-off from 1-7:30. Admission is free and this much-loved is event is one day only, from 11am-7pm, so don’t miss it. Otherwise, you’ll have to hold off your palate -the promise of a multitude of Marietta’s very best flavors- for an entire year.
