The need to get away from the hands on part of caregiving is an absolute must. Burnout among caregiving individuals is tremendous. Therefore it is imperative that caregivers utilize every opportunity to take a break. And there is not enough said about going completely out of your element for a break. Having this in mind, I want to make you aware of an educational opportunity. You will have an opportunity to learn new approaches, visit with people from all over the area who are dealing with the same challenges you have and have a marvelous lunch.
Learning new approaches is empowering and will satisfy a need to keep on track, a times of feeling feeling totally overwhelmed. You can get there from every aspect of the patient’s life and come away with information which will serve you well. You will have the opportunity to learn ways to improve family visits, caregiving techniques, hear different philosophies on heredity and approaches to end-of-life issues.
