This week on “American Idol,” we are going to see a superstar perform in Katy Perry; and next week, you better get ready for more of the same.
According to new reports, rock superband Coldplay is set to give a performance on the May 3 results show, and with this it marks the band’s first performance on a reality show since hitting up “The X Factor” finale in Great Britain last year. It’s not entirely clear at the moment just what song off of their new album “Mylo Xyloto” they will perform, as they would need Rihanna for “Princess of China” and their other recent single “Paradise” would be a little long in the tooth for the show.
It’s not clear whether or not the band will be joined by a past contestant on the results show, but that has been the trend so far this year. Strong candidates to appear do include the likes of Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Casey James, and Kelly Clarkson, who all have new (or at least recent) music that they could perform.
Are you excited to see Coldplay’s performance?
