Nature Walk at O’Neill Regional Park
Hang out with some locals as a volunteer guides you on a pleasant nature walk through the Trabuco Canyon at O’Neill Regional Park. This light and informative weekly stroll is the perfect way to kick off your Saturday morning. Get some fresh air, light exercise, and learn something new. Bring the kids and some friends, as this event is open to everyone. Parking is $5 and the event is free. Meet up at 9am on Saturday, March 30 at the Nature Center just inside the park. Nature Hike at Caspers Wilderness Park
This Sunday, April 1, head to San Juan Capistrano for the weekly nature hike, and explore the wildlife and habitat of Caspers Wilderness Park. This ranger led walk is a leisurely hike along a 1 mile trail through native California terrain. Bring your kids and visit the Nature Center after the walk to learn even more about the animal and plant life in the wilderness park. Meet at the park by 8am. Kids’ Fishing Derby at Mile Square Park
Also happening Saturday, March 31 is the Kids’ Fishing Derby at Mile Square Park. Bring your kids ages 15 and under for this fun fishing activity where the North Lake will be stocked with 1,600 pounds of trout for the event. Hosted by United Anglers of Southern California, the California Department of Fish and Game, and OC Parks, there will be prizes divided by age groups and a free barbecue lunch for all in attendance. California Department of Fish and Game will offer a free fishing clinic and a limited number of free fishing rods to kids. The event is free and parking is $5.
