Greg Anderson and Jason Line aren’t just gearing up for this weekend’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway – they’re gearing up to please their sponsor and their team owners.
The duo shares sponsorship with the race, as Summit Racing Equipment is displayed prominently on their Pro Stock entries. Las Vegas also happens to be the home track of team owner Ken Black and his wife Judy. “It’s a big deal every year when we go to Vegas because of it being Ken and Judy’s hometown and combined with the fact that this is a Summit-sponsored race,” said Anderson. “The good thing about this year’s race is that we’re coming in on a high, so we’re hoping to continue that roll and put two Summit Pontiacs in the final round so we can put that big smile on everyone’s face again.”
Anderson and Line, who have six Pro Stock championships and 99 wins between them, already have one win a piece in 2012: Anderson at the NHRA Winternationals and Line at the NHRA Arizona Nationals. While they each hope to increase those statistics this weekend, Line knows there’s a long season ahead. “You always hope that the season will start out the way we have,” said Line. “However, it is still just a start. There is a lot of racing left in the season with a lot left to accomplish and lots of work left to be done.”
