After falling off my deck, tripping over a shovel, face down on concrete; while recuperating, I made the decision, to complete a self taught course on the 154 Shakespeare Sonnets.
I had written several homage’s to back in 2008, therefore I thought it would be an easy thing for me to do.
I began with Sonnet 1. Answering it was not a problem, so self said to self: hey this is going to be a breeze. Well I continued along until I got to Sonnet 50, when the proper words began escaping me.
Stopped for a while, but still needed something challenging to keep my mind off my broken teeth, and of course the renovations still going on in my Hurricane Ike damaged home, here on Galveston Bay.
I began again: joined www.nostalgiaramblings, as a place to post them, giving me the opportunity to edit at any given time, and possibly get some good feedback.
Having completed the challenge placed before me, I decided to rest for a while.
While directing a worker around my flooded backyard, here in old Seabrook, I fell into a drainage hole.
At this point, self said to self: do I give up attempting to carve out a livable existence here? Do I learn to live without drainage . . . or do I stop wearing heels?
Well here I am, writing again, with broken and missing teeth, and a brace on my ankle, but thankfully writing again.
If you live in a hurricane damaged home like I do, please accept any blessings that is sent your way, and of course try not to fall. Sincerely, Jean.
