Are you ready to adopt a shelter dog or cat, providing a forever home? If you have not thought about it lately, you have twelve hours to ponder the idea this weekend. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay will host the first Mega Match-a-Thon this Saturday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sponsored by the ASPCA, Mega Match-a-Thon adoptions are happening simultaneously all over the country in a huge effort by to showcase the hundreds of adoptable dogs and cats needing homes. Imagine twelve hours of festivities for the animals and the animal lovers who come out to visit, and adopt.
Many rescue groups will be on hand for advice, education, goodies, and of course, an animal you may fall in love with from the moment your eyes meet. New adopters will receive a goodie bag of supplies, along with a free ID tag for their new family member.
Tampa Bay area rescue groups will take part in friendly contests to keep the momentum going during the 12-hour day. Face painting for the kids, new homes for the animals, and fun for everyone.
