Oracle Arena is the setting for Pop2012 this Saturday, March 31. The creative team at SKILLS is inspired to say the least. The event will be the most ambitious one-off production Northern California has ever experienced.
This year’s color theme is gold as in “baby it’s gold outside.”
The lineup features DYLOOT, NERVO, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, tyDi, Sander Van Doorn, Dash Berlin, Fedde Le Grand and Benny Benassi taking over after midnight.
POP2012 consists of many layers: sound, LEDs, lighting, and special effects, which as the night builds, so too will the visual experience.
Over 350,000 watts of power from digital, remote controlled Camco amplifiers will surround three circular stages, one of which will be rotating. A 360 degree design, giving the stage depth and creating a unique canvas for the VJ – the visuals on the transparent LED walls – will produce extraordinary effects providing a unique party experience. Adding to the dream will be 12 confetti cannons, streamers, snow and bubbles and the “Sexy Skills Sirens.”
Hoping to keep this a safe and fun experience the promoter is testing out a new texting system to provide help should assistance of any sort become necessary. This system, now in use at many large stadiums, allows concert-goers to text directly to the dispatchers who coordinate medical, security, and facility resources. That means even if the bathroom is down to its last roll of toilet paper. Simply text ‘Pop’ to 69050, include the issue and location and help will be sent.
