Tampa, FL March 19, 2012 – Update on Ben T. Davis Incident
VICTIM #1 (shot): Rome Harmon, 11/30/90, B/M, 3203 East Giddens Avenue, Tampa
VICTIM #2 (hit in head with bottle): Andre Meyers, 1/19/75, B/M, 3210 East Ellicot Street, Tampa
VICTIM #3 (minor arm injury): Unidentified B/M
SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2007 Maroon Colored 4dr Chevy
Victim #1 sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was treated and released from the hospital. Victim #2 sustained non-life threatening injuries after he was hit in the head with a bottle and is currently still in the hospital. Victim #3 was treated and released from the hospital with a minor injury. It is unclear what caused his injury at this time.
ROC Officers were nearby when the 911 call came into dispatch. As they arrived, the suspect’s vehicle was leaving the scene. Officers initiated a pursuit. The suspect lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guardrail at Memorial Highway and Kennedy Boulevard. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other injuries. The three passengers were interviewed and released. The driver has not been charged with a crime at this point. Detectives are investigating to determine whether or not he was involved in the shooting. This is an ongoing investigation.
