The last thing a person wants to worry about before the wedding is how to follow the latest fad diet to insure the clothes fit on that special day. Still, no one wants a tux that won’t button or a dress that won’t zip. There is a way to lose weight, or keep weight off, naturally.
Science has proven that the body can not metabolize high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). The body stores the calories as fat around the abdomen. What most people are not aware of is the HFCS in the many products they eat or drink every day.
Read labels or assign a friend or family member to read the labels of the foods and beverages normally consumed every day. Eliminate all foods and beverages made with HFCS and eat as much as needed of the foods that contain few calories naturally.
Examples of foods & beverages with HFCS:
- Soft drinks
- Steak sauce
- Tomato sauce and paste
- Packaged cookies and cakes
- Many candies
- Canned yams or sweet potatoes
- Many salad dressings
These are not all of the foods with HFCS, but you get the picture. Read the labels. Some brands make their products with natural cane or beet sugar. Limit sugar in the diet, but always use naturally occurring sugar that the body can burn as energy.
Many breads are sweetened with HFCS. Find a low-fat bread sweetened with natural sugar. Be careful of deli meats. Are they really sweetened with honey or is it actually HFCS? Read the label. Fruit juice blends are sweetened with the forbidden corn syrup. Drink 100 percent, unsweetened fruit juices. Make water the drink of choice or tea sweetened with Splenda.
Fill the plate with fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables. Bake, broil or grill the meat and don’t make meat the largest portion on the plate. A baked potato with sour cream and chives is better than a bowl of pasta.
A diet doesn’t have to be complicated to work. Make adjustments to the diet you already follow. Green tea and Acai berry supplements will boost the metabolism. Raspberry ketones will boost the metabolism, but they will also raise the body temperature. The extra heat may make some people feel uncomfortably hot.
One-half cup of ice-cream after lunch is fine for desert. Yogurt, cheddar cheese and two percent milk pose no obstacle to losing a few pounds. The weight will come off – or stay off- without making you feel miserable. So bring on the broccoli, cauliflower and green beans. Eating natural will boost your good health for a natural glow on your wedding day.
