Tom Welling, most known for playing Clark Kent for ten years on “Smallville,” turns 35 years old today (April 26th)! In honor of this, how about we take a look at some of his best roles thus far?
Although Welling started out as a model, he eventually decided to try his hand at acting. His first serious job came in 2001, when he landed a six-episode stint on the CBS drama “Judging Amy.” Originally, his character was only supposed to stick around for three episodes, but, due to positive fan reviews, the actor was asked to appear in three more.
Welling then made guest appearances in both UPN’s “Special Unit 2” and FOX’s short-lived “Undeclared.”
The gorgeous actor got his big break later that year when he landed the role of Clark Kent in “Smallville,” a series about Superman’s life before he became, well, ‘super.’ The series chronicled his life, beginning with his teenage existence. It lasted ten seasons and was a huge hit for both The WB and The CW.
During his time on “Smallville,” Welling also appeared in the movies “Cheaper by the Dozen,” “The Fog,” and “Cheaper by the Dozen 2.”
