Can cleaning products make your life easier? There is one company that has designed brushes that are innovative and known for not wearing out. Today we have an interview with Evan Barksdale who is with an established cleaning company that has been in business for over 100 years.
The Fuller Brush Company, founded in 1906 is legendary, coining the phrase the “Fuller Brush Man,” and fostering an organization that has a long history of developing top-quality products.
Q.: Evan, thanks for visiting. Can you tell us about your experience with Fuller Brush?
E.: Absolutely. First, let me thank you for having me. Since, I began with Fuller Brush, I have been nothing but impressed with the company, the staff and the product line. It wasn’t hard to realize the loyalty and pride that both employees and customers feel for the brand and have been for over 100 years, making the company a true legend in the home products cleaning industry. Since the company’s inception, we don’t have to look very far for a story or connection to the Fuller Brush Man of the 1950-60s, and value the consistent joy brought to people to reflect on those times.
Q.: What is it about Fuller Brush brushes that set you apart from the competition?
E.: Quality. And that’s about as straight forward as it gets. We consistently hear from our customers reflecting the amazing longevity of their Fuller Brush products: from hair brushes, brooms and other hard goods that they’ve had for 20-30 years, and how proud they are that they not only still have them, but they continue to be impressed with the quality standard still evident.
Q.: I tested out your BathClean product and love it. I like the absence of a chemical smell—the scent is clean, what else can you tell homeowners about this product?
E.: Well, first, it’s also my favorite product and for that exact same reason. Yes, bleach will clean everything you toss at it, but will also strip siding off of your house. I believe BathClean is a great alternative. It applies smoothly, has many purposes including being excellent at removing soap scum and residue, while adding a layer of protection that both resists future grime and adds a sleek shine.
Q.: What are your most popular products?
E.: Not surprisingly, these can vary dramatically depending on the seasonality, region, demographic and so on. However, as hard goods (take brooms, mops, hairbrushes for instance) have decreased in quality and become more of a disposable item you might grab every 4 months at a discount retailer; we really do see our customers appreciate that they can buy a standard household product and rely on it to last for a very long time, and perform better than disposables each and every time.
Q.: What are some of the reasons that homeowners should think about choosing Fuller Brush products?
E.: It’s no secret that all homeowners take an enormous amount of pride in their house. It is their domicile, recreation and entertainment area, that place to just get away…What else could be more important to the American Dream? Given that, homeowners invest a great deal of their own sweat, tears and hard-earned dollars into the surfaces and materials they put into their house. At Fuller Brush, we strive to make the cleaning products, tools and tips, worthy of their dedication and love for their home, by offering the highest quality and attention to detail on every single product we produce.
Q.: Do you have an environmental mission?
E.: Yes, our commitment to sustainability is an extension of Fuller Brush’s rich history of innovation and continuous improvement. We’ve made sustainability an integral part of who we are and what we do. Our commitment is defined by three core principles: Efficient use of resources in our products and operations; Responsible use of chemicals, and transparent reporting of product ingredients; Responsible management of waste throughout a product’s lifecycle. We’ve made progress in each of these areas and established goals for continuous improvement. We’re confident that Fuller’s commitment to sustainability and good corporate citizenship will continue to improve and help us contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
Q.: Where are customers going to find the products and do you have a website for more information? Is there also a blog?
E.: Sure, Fuller Brush can be found at www.fuller.com. It was re-launched October 1, 2011, with the goal of being an online destination that you can shop/ purchase our products, browse for specific cleaning tips or watch our product demonstration videos. We also encourage our customers and fans to join us on our Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media community pages.
Q.: Is there anything else you would like to tell Home and Living Readers?
E.: At Fuller Brush, we believe that while cleaning is a necessary chore, Fuller Brand products can make it easier, more effective and economically sound. In an age of temporary fixes and disposable products, we don’t think that’s good enough, and have made it our mission to provide the very best products to make life easier and cost effective for all of our customers.
