“Mirror Mirror,” staring “City of Bones” star Lily Collins is out in theaters today. The Tarsem Singh directed film stars Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen and Armie Hammer as the Prince.
Vania Stoyanova, who you may remember as being the owner/founder of VLC Productions that produced some of Clare’s book trailers, got to see the film in a special advanced screening. She did see some “Clary-like” moments by Collins’ who will bring Clare’s Shadowhunter Clary to life in “The Mortal Instruments” franchise. “Clary is known for her resilience, determination and stubbornness which Lilly portrayed wonderfully in Mirror Mirror, though,Snow White was a little more timid than Clary would ever be. What I enjoyed most was the fighting scenes.” Stoyanova made reference to the scene attached to this article. “Overall, Lilly played a strong female character in Mirror Mirror, not all that different from City of Bones,” said Stoyanova.
Collins of course has spoke in many interviews about this sword fighting scene and the practice she had to endure. It definitely should give Mortal Instruments fans faith in what she will be able to bring to the role of Clary Fray.
You can read a review by a fellow Examiner here. I will be seeing the film later today and cannot wait to see Collins’ on screen. Stay tuned for my review of Collins.
