Crystal Renn, ex plus-size model, has a new tinier frame these days. Once a size 16, the 25-year-old recovering anorexic says her new diet, fat-burning plan, and attitude on beauty explains why she experienced dramatic weight loss.
When she stepped out in NYC this week at the 9th Annual Spring Dinner Dance New Year’s In April: “A Fool’s Fete at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel,” she was literally unrecognizable to some onlookers, citing a Daily Mail report on 4/12/12.

Not only was the former voluptuous model, who took catwalks by storm noticeably thinner, Renn sported blonde locks, not the dark and lovely look.
“People can’t believe the transformation. I had black hair and now I have white hair. That’s what’s so exciting. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to show up as a different canvas at a shoot. It’s a very extreme look but very beautiful. Though it’s nothing conventional,” said ex plus-size model Crystal Renn on her tiny frame and dyed hair to People.
The former 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model said:
“There’s a woman at SI who’s made it a point to make sure that the models are healthy. They’re not interested in who’s the thinnest model of them all, they’re about the girl. We all have different bodies. There’s not one type that’s idealized. I’d love to see [the fashion industry] open their eyes to the variety of women. That variety is what’s beautiful.”
In the business since she was 14, the Clinton, Mississippi native was told she had to lose one-third of her body weight before she could book serious gigs. Crystal Renn, like many young girls her age, developed an eating disorder from pressure to look “beautiful.”
Thankfully, she recovered at a point in her career when she is still relevant, and a role model to her fans. Her message now is that beauty is on the inside. In fact, in her 2009 book, Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves, she talks about how beauty is only skin-deep.
