Big weekends are big opportunities. Here are my favorites this weekend. Please share and subscribe.
Thursday, April 26
- Marc Sabatella works for piano, string quartet, and voice at Dazzle Restaurant and Lounge. Admission $12 ($8 with student ID to the second set), 7 & 9 PM. Includes premieres of new works and Marc’s re-working of Beethoven’s Sonata Pathetique. Marc’s playing and composing is vibrant and meaningful-catch him now while you can afford to get seats for your friends!
Friday, April 27
- Colorado Symphony Orchestra at Boettcher Hall. Scott O’Neil, resident conductor, will be putting the orchestra through its paces for a program called “Shuffle,” tickets start at $15. The orchestra warns us to “Hold on for a fusion concert for every musical taste.” The CSO is a very contemporary and forward thinking orchestra-this program will be a great introduction to novitiates and fun for the experienced as well.
Saturday, April 28
- The Playground Ensemble at the King Center on Auraria Campus. Pre-concert talk at 6:30 PM in the music and dance studio, tickets: $10 adult, $8 senior, $5 student. This concert features the best of Colorado’s new chamber ensemble music. The Playground bills it as their “most important concert of the year” and they may be right. Colorado is currently a hotbed of musical creativity! Call the King Center Box Office at 303-556-3180 to get your seats to this special concert today before the remainder are gone.
Get out there and kick your heels up this weekend!
