Did Vibe magazine have ill intentions when they interviewed Drake ? According to the “Take Care” star, speaking out Friday, the magazine attempted to make him appear “bitter” and flip an otherwise positive story.
While it was widely reported that he walked out of or “stormed out” of his interview and cover shoot with Vibe, Drake says the publication was totally at fault.
“I didn’t like the way I was treated,” says Drake. “They ran this story about how I’m the most bitter guy, and my life is in turmoil. And I’m, like, a very happy 25-year-old kid living an amazing life. They tried to put a damper on my character, I guess because I didn’t play according to their rules.”
According to Drake, the incident is not an isolated one in the United States.
“You do get certain publications in the States where, if things don’t go according to plan they flip the story and it becomes very negative,” Drake told The Guardian.
In related news, Drake will play a 27-city amphitheater tour in the U.S. this summer. Slated to kick off May 7, the trek will take Drake through much of North America with stops in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Mansfield, MA. Tickets went on sale for select dates March 23.
