Now that FarmVille’s fifth farm space, Hawaiian Paradise, has been released to the masses, players have discovered we’re starting fresh with an all-new currency in the game.
Coconuts are now required for almost anything you want to do in Hawaiian Paradise, and if you’re going to play, you need a lot of them. Coconuts are the equivalent of Farm Coins that we use on all our other farm spaces.
Now that we know how much we need them, many players are wondering exactly how to earn them and build up a stockpile of them. This week, we’re sharing tips that will help you earn Coconuts fast, and maybe even have a few to spare to buy a little something extra in the FarmVille Market.
Going nuts with Taro
If you’re working on quests, the last thing you probably want to do is focus on planting things that aren’t required. BUT, you may want to consider planting Taro in between waiting for animals to harvest. Taro is a Hawaiian crop that only takes four hours to be ready for harvesting. You won’t earn many Coconuts when harvesting, but mastering this crop will unlock Royal Taro. This super crop costs 12 Coconuts to plant per plot, but you will score 56 Coconuts and 2 XP per plot you harvest of it. This makes it the most profitable crop in Hawaiian Paradise so far. The bonus? Royal Taro is also a four hour crop.
Money falling out of trees
If you haven’t already built an Orchard in Hawaiian Paradise, we suggest doing it as soon as possible. You can complete it with parts from Special Delivery Boxes, so there’s no friend begging involved. Once you’ve got your Orchard built, load that baby up with as many Hawaiian trees as you can. If you’re purchasing them in the FarmVille Market, look for the Coconut icon on it – that means it will harvest for Coconuts. If you grow Mystery Seedlings you get from friends, you have a chance of sprouting one of these new Hawaiian trees. Stick it in your Orchard and it’s as good as Coconuts in the bank when you harvest it.
Don’t forget the animals
Be sure to build Hawaiian animal pens and store the animals you earn from quests in them. In most cases, this bumps up the harvest time on the animals, and in all cases, you’ll be earning Coconuts when you harvest them.
Oldies but goodies
If you happen to have any of the following trees or animals in your Gift Box, place them down in Hawaiian Paradise. They currently allow you to earn Coconuts upon harvesting them:
- All Packed Penguin
- Aloha Horse
- Baby Elephant
- Cinnamon Teal Duck
- Cremello Stallion (LOTS of Coconuts!)
- Fire Dancer pig
- Kelly Green Cow
- Nene Goose
- Spa Duck
- Dog Treat Tree
- Lucky Cookie Tree
- Money Pod Tree
- Pink Plumeria Tree
- Rainbow Gum Tree
- Rainbow Tree
- Shamrock Tree
- Jaca Tree
One of the fans on our FarmVille Examiner Facebook page has reported getting 500 Coconuts per Rainbow Tree she harvests. Pretty awesome numbers if you think about what an Orchard full of them can do!
