Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods, how about yours? With t-ball season in full-swing and Spring Break right around the corner we are running around crazy. Sometimes the last thing I want to think about is putting dinner on the table. But resist that urge to call for pizza or go pick up take-out. This easy casserole comes together in less than 30 minutes. (Even less time if you put it together on the weekend and freeze it!)
Easy baked ziti recipe:
1 lb. ground beef
3 cups ziti pasta
1/2 teaspoon ground garlic
1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 28-oz jar of spaghetti sauce
1 4-cup package shredded mozzarella
Brown the ground beef, while that is cooking, boil the pasta. Drain both, and place back in the ground beef’s pot.
Pour in the ground garlic, Italian seasoning, and the spaghetti sauce. Add one cup of the shredded mozzarella and stir well. Pour in to a large baking dish. Cover with the remaining three cups of mozzarella.
At this point, you can cover well with aluminum foil and store in your freezer for up to two weeks. Remember to move to the fridge the night before you want to bake it to thaw overnight.
Or, you may cook immediately. Bake uncovered, at 375-degrees for 20-30 minutes or until bubbly. Serve hot, goes wonderfully with bakery bread and fresh salad.
