It was reported April 24 by Game Informer magazine that former infinity ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has parted ways with his former team and publisher Activision to create his own development studio, Robotoki. “Robotoki is focused on being a developer development studio that just happens to make games. We are focused on our team first and everything else second, because I believe as an industry; we have a lot to learn on how to treat talent,” said Bowling. “While we continue to out stride film and music entertainment in other areas, we are falling severely behind in how to properly inspire and support our creative talent,” Bowling said in an interview with game informer.
It seems his goal is to run a studio that does a 180 on his former studio’s mindset. Since the release of Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare in 2007 the series has had an iteration released every year since then. Bowling was a part of Infinity Ward since Call of Duty 2 in 2005. Fans argue that the series has become repetetive with its most popular component, its multiplayer. His vision is to create an enviroment in which a close knit team works together without stiffling creativity to create games in which the enviroment is priority one, with game mechanics following soonafter. Robotoki plans on crating games ranging from iOS,android,PC & consoles.
