Former child star Kirk Cameron is taken to task by other former child stars for his controversial anti-gay statements in a new Funny or Die video.
The video is a response to former “Growing Pains” actor and current Christian evangelist Kirk Cameron’s controversial remarks on homosexuality; remarks that angered and upset many in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, as well as fellow celebrities and other concerned citizens.
Appearing in the video are Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron (CCOKCs). The former child stars from the 80’s and 90’s include Kenn Michael (The Parent ‘Hood), Brice Beckham (Mr. Belvedere), Jeremy Licht (The Hogan Family), and Christine Lakin (Step by Step). In the video the former child celebrities proclaim:
“We’re pledging to raise awareness about a serious threat to our civil rights: Kirk Cameron’s stupid opinions. As former child stars ourselves, we don’t want to be associated with that…”

Much of the current controversy began last March when Kirk Cameron was caught gay bashing on CNN, claiming homosexuality is unnatural, detrimental, and destructive. Critics claim Cameron’s remarks constitute Christian hate speech.
The former “Growing Pains” actor and current Christian evangelist made the inflammatory anti-gay remarks while appearing on CNN’s Piers Morgan.
Speaking of same-sex marriage, Cameron said:
“Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don’t think anyone else should either. So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don’t.”
Speaking of homosexuality, Cameron said:
“I think that it’s – it’s – it’s unnatural. I think that it’s – it’s detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”
