If you want to get in shape for the summer, you will have to change your eating habits. You will have to limit your intake of sweets, fried foods and foods that are high in sodium. You should also make sure that you consume plenty of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories, but rich in fiber. You need about 25-30 grams of fiber per day. Fiber helps keep you full longer, which can prevent you from overeating. It also helps keep your blood sugar level stable so that you do not crave sugary foods.
Drink lots of water
Approximately 70 percent of your body is made up of water. You need to consume anywhere from eight to ten cups of water per day. Water is very filling and will prevent you from overeating. Additionally, you will save hundreds of calories per day if you replace sugary beverages with water.
You cannot get a beach body without exercising. You will need to perform both cardiovascular and resistance exercises. Cardio exercises include activities such as walking, dancing, jogging and cycling. Those types of exercises should be performed five days out of the week for at least 30 minutes. Squats, lunges, bicep curls, sit-ups and push-ups are examples of resistance exercises. You need to perform resistance exercises 2-3 days out of the week. You also need to make sure that you do eight to ten reps and two to three sets.
