I’ve Got Your Number is the most recent book by Sophie Kinsella, launched in February 2012, which is her 5th stand-alone book. The main character of the novel is Poppy Wyatt, a physiotherapist engaged to a man whom she sees as the perfect man, Magnus Tavish.
But on the day she was supposed to meet her future in-laws, the unspeakable thing happens – she loses her engagement ring, which is not just any ring, but a family treasure, a heirloom, a ring that has belonged in Tavish family for generations. And to add insult to injury, her phone gets stolen.
What is she going to do now, how will she face her fiancé and his parents, with her ring finger bare? Fortunately, she gets a little divine help when she finds a phone in a trash bean, so now she can trace the lost ring.
And then Sam, the owner of the found phone, appears in the picture. Reluctantly, he agrees to let Poppy use his phone till she finds her precious engagement ring. A long string of text and email communication starts between the two of them, until the point when Poppy faces the biggest surprise of her life.
I’ve Got Your Number is a hilarious book that will keep you chained to it till the last page, the best stand-alone book from Sophie Kinsella so far – five stars out of five.
