The Titanic is returning to theatres, in eye-popping 3D, on April 4, 2012. Director James Cameron and castmembers appeared on ABC to talk about the romantic tragedy. The Titanic premiered 15 years ago, in 1997, and is now being released in 3D format, just in time of the 100th anniversary of tragic ship’s sinking.

The Titanic starred Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as star-crossed lovers. Rose DeWitt Bukaker (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) came from different backgrounds but fell in love on the ship. In addition to the launch of the 3D version of Titanic in movie theatres, National Geographic Channel is broadcasting a special in honor of the 100th anniversary, Titanic: The Final Word with James Cameron, premieres over a two night period on April 8-9, 2012.
