YEA, the small town of Jonesborough TN actually has ‘2’ ladies specialty clothes shops.
Kaley’s is the first dress shop seen as one enters the main street of the downtown area of Jonesborough. The window facing the incoming road has a unique mannequin in the window; it’s a mop with shoulders. The fringe of the mop is the hair for the mannequin and the clothes are draped on the ‘make-shift shoulders’. To see the mannequin, in passing, it looks like a real mannequin.
But, the treat is when one enters the store. You are welcomed very cheerfully by the store owner into a quaintly small but tastefully presented shop; and for as small as it is, it does not feel crowded. You walk in and to the left is a wall of jewelry and hats and, to the right is a free standing pants/skirt rack of colorful, flowing and soft looking apparel. To the right at the back of the store, is a free-standing, antique-looking full length mirror which adds to the quaintness of the environment.
The treat in walking into this store is ‘the attractiveness’ of the clothes, jewelry, hats and other accessories. They are displayed in such a way that one feels drawn to indulging oneself in the luxury of clothes shopping. The store products should please a very diverse age-range of ladies. All who were seen during the interview, left with bag-in-hand and big smiles on the face.
Sorry to say, the 2nd shop was closed on the day of interview.
