There’s no need to go to California to learn to windsurf when there are windsurfing clinics right here in DFW! North Texas Wind Riders, a local windsurfing organization, is offering one more beginners windsurfing clinic this summer on Saturday, July 21st.
North Texas Wind Riders members conduct the sessions which includes an introduction to the principles of windsurfing, practice runs using a land trainer (if it is available) to give students a chance to feel how the wind works with the sails, and practice time on the water for only $35. A portion of the tuition for the session will be donated to charity.
Classes on July 21st will run from 10:30 to 3:30 at Lake Ray Hubbard at Windsurf Bay Park. Groups will begin at 10:30 a.m., 12 noon and 1:30 p.m., respectively. It would be best to arrive 30 minutes prior to class to get ready and bring water, sunscreen, comfortable clothes and shoes that can get wet.
Riders must be between ages eight to eighty. Participants do not need to be in stellar strength to join in, only willing to get up and give it a try. Registration forms are now available on the website so jump on board before classes fill up.
