Lava Hot Springs is one of Idaho’s gems. Located in the southeast corner of the state, this natural hot springs offers the relaxation of warm mineral pools as well as an Olympic size swimming pool. The facilities are at separate ends of this unique resort town.
The Olympic size swimming pool has everything you need for a day filled with fun from the 50 meter long racing lane and kiddie area to the deep diving well with a ten meter diving platform and water slides. Large grassy areas provide plenty of room for basking in the sun, snacking, or napping. Get out of the sun for a bit and visit the enclosed 25 meter pool with it’s new climbing wall.
After a busy day in the pool, visit the hot mineral waters to relax and unwind. Rumored to have natural healing powers, these pools are open all day. Send the youngsters and more active adults to the Olympic pool and let the older family members enjoy the healing waters or stroll through Lava’s sunken gardens.
The more adventurous members of your party may want to rent a tube and cool off with a float down the Portneuf River that runs through the middle of the town. After cooling off in the river warm up with a soak in the hot pools!
