With so much to select from, the decision was a lengthy one at that. A half sandwich and half salad combo that comes with chips and a pickle ($9.50) was the final decision the sandwich was East Meets West that had turkey and a delicious chutney dressing that comes with your choice of white, wheat or rye bread; the salad was a spinach salad with feta cheese, mandarin oranges, and red onions with balsamic vinaigrette. The taco chicken salad ($8.50) was also ordered at the table which can be consumed hot or cold and comes with tortilla chips.
A thought couldn’t even be conjured up before the food was served, quick and capable service. The food was very satisfying and it was equally enjoyable to eat with such a jubilant, lively and kid friendly atmosphere. With a very jovial décor of yellow and red walls and artwork everywhere you turn, the ambiance was almost reminiscent of New Orleans.
The desserts are so bountiful you cannot leave without trying something! One of the best things about Cheddar Box is that if you are too full to eat it there, you can buy desserts by the slice or a whole cake/pie and go home to indulge later! The Bourbon Street fudge cake ($3.95/slice) was lovely. Also ordered were the luscious Lemon Shaker Pie ($3.50/slice) and the delectable Crème Brulee ($3.95/slice). There is also a fridge/freezer section where you can buy some dips, spreads, and salads to take home!
All in all The Cheddar Box Café will suit any deli lovers’ taste buds, if you like fine fresh food, you will not be disenchanted!
