Those on a low-carb eating plan could benefit from joining a support group. Limiting carbohydrates can be a difficult task and eating out at restaurants can be next to impossible. As someone who has successfully lost 73 pounds by eating low-carb, I am a huge advocate of the eating plan.
Not all people who do Atkins or similar eating plans are in it for the weight loss. Those with diabetes, hypoglycemia, or other medical conditions eat low-carb to manage their health.
There are many online low-carb support groups:
Low-Carb Online Support Groups
Those who follow Dr. Atkins low-carb eating plan can join the community at Atkins.com and receive encouragement, tips and recipes. The website even provides tools such as recording your carbohydrate intake each day, a journal and low-carb related news.
This discussion forum has a wealth of information as well as members who encourage one another. It is not diet-specific, so whether your carbohydrate intake is 20 or 200 you are welcome. They do have a discussion thread where members are listing in-person support groups in their area. They also have a recipe index where you will find thousands of cooking ideas.
Low Carb Friends
This online support group is very active and they even have sub-groups for those who are aiming to lose over 100 pounds, low-carbers over 50 years of age and news about low-carb challenges.
Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb

The above list is not all-inclusive, but these are the low-carb support groups with an active community who have members who are supportive to one another.
