When the weather gets too hot and humid here in Sarasota, Florida to do much outside in the garden, I like to find ways of bringing my love of ‘playing in the dirt’ inside to the air conditioning.
This year someone flipped that heat switch a little early and a chance find at Target’s pushed my creativity into high gear. I found a large glass container with a lid for a very reasonable price and immediately thought, ‘Terrarium’!
Having never made one before, I did some research, gathered my supplies and started this creative project. You can make one too following the simple steps outlined in the slide show.
When you’re finished placing all your plants and decorative items, a very light sprinkling of water and capping off the terrarium with the lid are your last steps before displaying your beautiful indoor garden. If the terrarium gets too much condensation (blurring the glass and your view), take the lid off for a few hours to let it dry out a touch.
Fun and easy, terrarium making is limited only by your imagination and the supplies you can find.
