The problem with our country today is because often the rod is spared and the children are spoiled. Child abuse is rampant because parents believe they have the right to take their anger and frustration out on their children. This is not the same as careful, thoughtful discipline and protection of your own children. You must raise your children to respect not only you, but all authority figures.
The anger of this mother was at the stupidity of her son putting himself in a situation he should have been smart enough to avoid. While we may disagree with her language and public violence toward the boy, we must respect her for the courage to be a responsible parent. If other families had this type of concern for the welfare of the young, the Maryland National Guard would not be needed tonight.
