Hooray for a night out for moms that also supports a great cause! The MOMS Club of Media is hosting a MOM Prom on Saturday, April 28th, 2012. The event will take place at Barnaby’s in Aston where you can bust a move on the dance floor with your friends from 7pm – 10pm. Admission is $30 in advance or $35 at the door and includes buffet, drinks, dessert and raffles. What a wonderful way to celebrate and donate at the same time. Log in to Facebook to view the official page for this event. Tickets can be purchased through PayPal. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Attendees must be 21 or older.
Now for some background on the evening’s honored beneficiary. Alex’s Lemonade Stand is a locally founded charity that has blossomed to nationwide status and beyond to honor and continue the legacy of its founder, Alexandra “Alex” Scott, a beautiful and brave hero. This determined little girl from Wynnewood, PA, rallied to raise money to help find a cure for pediatric cancer, all while pushing through her own difficult battle with the disease. Her personal struggles and triumphs have touched and inspired millions and continue to bring hope and courage to others in the fight against pediatric cancer.
There are numerous other local and national events supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand, which include the annual Lemon Ball (January), the Lemon Run, Philadelphia (November), and numerous lemonade stands that will be popping up, most notably during National Lemonade Days (June 8th-10th).
April’s MOM Prom hosted by the MOMS Club of Media provides a nice springboard to the famous summer season for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. To join forces with this amazing organization in serving up sweet refreshments and hope, check out how you can hold your own stand and much more. In the meantime, you may want to break out the stilettos (and of course the roll up flats for later) and bring your girlfriends together for an evening of celebration and donation.
