Entre Nos is inspired by a true story. It is about a mother who struggled to supply for her two children, after she was unexpectedly abandoned by her husband. Mariana had newly immigrated to the United States two weeks before she was left to make an income with nothing on hand. She had no experience, language or anything going for her, except for her strong will to survive and support her children.
This young mother struggled so much to where she could not leave her two young children any where to make an income. She and her children even became homeless at some points, she would not sleep, would only get a few blinks sitting up. Mariana struggled with parenting, supplying, and with living, in-general, all at once. Mariana tried to work everything she could while including her two children in everything she did.
Mariana had no one to turn to for help. This young woman observed what other people did and found that she could collect cans to recycle for little cash. That is what she and her two children did during the day to make their ends meet. Mariana collected cans from trash cans throughout the city streets in exchange for limited cash and was even short at some points. After all, she was supporting a family of three.
However, Mariana’s hard work paid off. Both of her children now hold university degrees and her daughter is actually the one that intrigued this movie to be made for her deserving mother… This woman did struggle but the dedication she had eventually paid off and made her proud. Very proud.
This strong woman was courageous, strong and an example to many struggling parents.
