Fear Itself is a nice horror series with an excellent variety of stories. The 60 minute episodes are just right for a quick horror fix without watching a full length film. Each episode tells a story with good attention paid to providing a complete plot rather than a teaser or what feels like a partial film. Mick Garris has again brought together a good group of directors who have done a great job of displaying their work. The only downside of the season was that it ended.
Acting was pretty good in most episodes though there were a few rough spots and inexperienced cast members. Camera work, sets, and backgrounds in most every episode were nicely done with a quality feel rather than feeling cheap or rushed as with some franchises. Effects included both physical and CGI scenes and all were nicely done. Dialogue was good in every episode for the most part with only a few rough patches. Sound and soundtrack were fairly well done.
Overall Fear Itself is a solid, enjoyable series with nice variety and attention to detail. Stories are varied helping to keep things fresh and interesting throughout. Horror fans will likely enjoy this series quite a bit.
With some horror scenes, blood, gore, and mild violence this should be fine for teens and above.
Fear Itself is no longer showing in any Littleton Colorado movie theatres.
