Multijet is the next generation fuel system for diesel engines. It is the final result of the development of diesel technology by the Fiat Group in 1999 and subsequently produced by the division of Fiat Powertrain Technologies along with General Motors.
With more control over the combustion process the result is a smoother, quieter drive with surprisingly low emissions and high fuel economy. The advanced turbochargers provide most of the torque at low engine speeds, allowing lower vibration levels and improved responsiveness.
All Fiat diesel engines use the Multijet Technology which enables the engine management computer to optimise the combustion for every combination of driver demand (the accelerator pedal) and engine speed, and create the best possible injection sequence.
