Theater is a favorite of mine because it opens my eyes to the world around me. That being said, the fact that I’m not “an insider”-even with local theatre, sometimes gets in the way. Sure, there are times I wish when I did know more people who are actors and such, but I don’t plan to stay with this job forever, so I guess I’m okay for now. If you don’t like the fact that I’m not an actor, that’s all right by me. After all, not everyone who knows lots about politics is a politician, right?
When I go and see shows with my parents or with friends, I typically just watch the show as if I’m an ordinary theatergoer, not really interacting with others when intermission rolls around. Once, I did talk to someone at a production at the Palace Theater, but other than that one time, I’ve typically remained pretty quiet, getting up to stretch my legs and walk around. I feel that if I do talk to people about my job, than they will be mean to me, but you never know until you try. Maybe one of these days I will talk to someone, and they will listen to me with open ears.
I am typically quiet and reserved when it comes to my job; I take it very seriously. Even though I love it, I still would like to try my hand at other arenas. I think that my writing would be more suited for a hobby than a profession, but I’m still going to write as long as I can. I just hope and pray that wherever life leads me next, that I will have as much fun as I did with this job.
