Watch out! There’s a new tequila creeping its way to Dallas beverage retailers. Born from the love two friends shared of Mexico, surfing, and tequila, comes Peligroso.
First impressions are everything, and Peligroso, whose name translates to ‘dangerous,’ gets an A+ in that department. Its bold design of a snake ready to attack is definitely a unique creation that catches your eye instantly. But is the fancy packaging attempting to mask what is inside? Perhaps it’s to distract the consumer from its mediocre taste. Well the Peligroso team gave us a try and we can assure you our suspicions were wrong, Peligroso is a beauty inside and out.
Living up to its name, Peligroso is dangerously good. The heat from Peligroso Silver is immediately felt, followed by its rich flavor and a hint of spice. Unlike most tequila, Peligroso is 42% alcohol content, giving it an extra edge you can’t miss.
The Peligroso team also shared some recipes with us. Here are our favorites:
Peligroso Fruit Margaritas:
- Glass with ice
- 1.5 – 2oz. Peligroso Silver (Peligroso Reposado works too)
- 1.5 – 2oz. triple sec
- Squeeze in half a lime
- Top glass with juice of your choice
- Shake all ingredients in a shaker and pour them back in the glass.
Peligroso Thai Basil Cucumber Margarita:
- 1.5oz Peligroso Silver
- 2oz. Agave nectar
- 2 limes squeezed
- 1 cucumber
- Splash of Ginger Ale
- Black pepper
- Combine Thai basil and two slices of cucumber in a shaker and muddle with agave nectar. Add lime juice, tequila, and ice. Shake and pour over the rocks. Garnish with a cucumber slice and throw in a pinch of black pepper.
