For Thursday, March 29th 2012 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8pm) – “The Transporter Malfunction” – Penny (Kaley Cuoco) buys Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) “Star Trek” collectibles as a thank-you, leading Sheldon to be haunted by Mr. Spock (guest star Leonard Nimoy). Meanwhile, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) decides he has met the “Future Mrs. Koothrappali” after his parents set him up on a date.
Community (NBC, 8pm) – “Digital Exploration of Interior Design” – As the new Greendale Subway shop opens in the cafeteria, Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), Pierce (Chevy Chase), and Britta (Gillian Jacobs) plot to bring about its early demise. Vice Dean Laybourne (guest star John Goodman) makes another attempt to get Troy (Donald Glover) to join the Air Conditioning Repair Annex, while Abed (Danny Pudi) and Troy find themselves at odds over their competing pillow and blanket forts.
The Vampire Diaries (The CW, 8pm) – “The Murder of One” – Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) focus a new project that will bring them closer to destroying Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and they quickly bring Elena (Nina Dobrev), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) in on the plan. After Klaus threatens someone close to Bonnie (Kat Graham), she has no choice but to work on the spell he needs. Meanwhile, Klaus and Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) find the perfect motivator to convince Finn (guest star Caspar Zafer) to cooperate with them, but Rebekah is more interested in her own brutal plan to take revenge on Damon. Stefan’s emotional turmoil leads him to a dangerous confrontation with Klaus and, later, to a heartbreaking moment with Elena.
30 Rock (NBC, 8:30pm) – “The Shower Principle” – Jack (Baldwin) must come up with an idea that will impress Hank Hooper (Ken Howard) and transform KableTown, while Liz (Fey) tries her best to stick with a new hobby and prove she’s a new woman. Jenna (Jane Krakowski) believes she’s cursed and Hazel’s (Kristen Schaal) obsession with Liz continues. Tracy (Tracy Morgan) signs on to do a new movie in order to pay his unexpectedly high taxes.
Up All Night (NBC, 9:30pm) – “Letting Go” – Reagan (Christina Applegate) and Ava’s (Maya Rudolph) changing responsibilities at home, a newly walking Amy and Julian’s (guest star Chris Diamantopoulos) most recent gift to Ava, a dog, threaten to interfere with the booking of their dream guest– music legend Stevie Nicks (as herself). Meanwhile, Chris (Will Arnett) might be in over his head when he is “promoted” to a younger hockey league.
