Over the weekend, for the first time in my life, I attempted to rock climb with a dear friend of mine. Since the weather was overcast and rainy, what better way to spend the day than to be indoors and being active. We looked online and found Aiguille (pronounced ay-gwee) Rock Climbing Center in Longwood, FL.
Since it was our first visit to the facility, we had to fill out a liability form and then take a brief 30-minute training course on how to use the equipment. The staff was super helpful and friendly, they tried to make sure communication was clear with all guests. The staff took their time to ensure each guest felt confident enough to go climbing on their own. After the training course, guests are free to hang around all day and work up a sweat.
Facts that make this place awesome:
- Anyone over the age of 4 and 45 lbs is welcome to climb at Aiguille
- Only dedicated climbing facility in the Orlando area
- Establish in 1997
- 10,000 square feet of climbing walls up to 36 feet high
- Classes, Private instruction, Community events, Birthday parties, & much more..
Personally, I enjoyed the belaying technique! It was a great team building experience..
Bring the family, all your friends, and co-workers, whomever for a day of fitness or stretch out in one of the yoga classes they offer!!

The next national holiday is Memorial Day. For most of us that means a 3 day weekend, I suggest going ahead and make plans now, before they hit capacity..
