On Saturday night be sure to check out a triple bill featuring local bands Rosco, Rally and Staffer. The music will be taking place at Copperfield’s and starts at 8 p.m.
Many know Rosco, but may not yet know the name. The band was formerly called Harbortown and has frequented Copperfield’s along with other bars around the New England area. This past fall they also played at Magnetic Gathering, where they started off Sunday at the main stage.
Rosco has the same original lineup as Harbortown (Thomas Werneken on Guitar/ Vocals, Steve Werneken on Keys/ Lead Vocals, Jake Parsons on Bass/Vocals, Ted Leist on Drums and Zach Squiers on Guitar) and has a collection of originals with many appearing on the first album Stories and Names. The band also puts their own spin on covers of acts like Phish, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead and more. Expect a night full of jamming with originals and covers intertwined.
Rally is another local band from the suburbs of Boston. The last time they played was at Copperfield’s under the name ‘Special Guests.’ Since then they have been practicing in “the barn” multiple times a week and even getting some recordings done.
The three piece band, comprised of guitarist Shawn Tuttle, bassist Mike Gill and drummer Chris Arey, now has a solid catalogue of originals. They have a four song demo that was recently recorded, and will be available at Saturday’s show.
Check them out on Saturday night!
