St. Augustine – A man is being sought by St. Augustine police after he went into the Target Department Store on U.S. 1 and used a credit card stolen from a car parked at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum today (http://www.ripleys.com/staugustine/).
According to St. Augustine Police Department Public Information Officer Mark Sampson, the man purchased a Play Station 3 at the store worth $264.99.
In a release this afternoon, Sampson said the SAPD was hoping someone would recognize the man in the security camera photo accompanying the release.
“We are asking for any information on the identity of the man in the photo,” Sampson said.
Sampson said police had responded earlier to a call of a burglary of a vehicle at Ripley’s. He said when the victim returned to his car, he found the window smashed and several personal items missing – including the credit card.
Sampson said police are continuing the investigation and working on other leads that have been established in the case.
