Burger King is introduced its “new-and-improved French fries” to 7,000 North American restaurants on December 5, 2011. The launch included the offer of a free value sized portion of the new fries to customers on December 16. The company is reprising their free fries offer to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. According to Alex Macedo, senior vice president, North America marketing, Burger King Corp, “Free fries for St. Patrick’s Day weekend is the Burger King way of sharing the luck of the Irish with all of our guests.”
Each “pot” of fries will be served with a side of green dipping sauce. The special Heinz St. Paddy’s Day sauce is actually green ketchup, which tastes the same as the traditional red variety.
Burger King’s new fries are 240 calories per serving, and are cooked in trans-fat-free vegetable oil. The fires are 20 percent lower in sodium than the previous fries, which had been made with the same recipe since 1998.
Customers can get the free fries all day on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. No purchase is required, and no coupon is needed for the offer.
