St. Patrick’s Day was March 17th, but for me that date has a very different meaning. It was my Sadie’s birthday: she would have been 10 years old.
It’s been over 3 years since that awful day that I came home to find my Sadie had died in the short 2-hours that I had left the house. She was born with a severe heart condition called VSD, and the veterinarians who met her were all shocked she had lived past her predicted 6-months. Yet she did. She lived nearly 7 years before what I had been dreading her whole life finally happened.
Yes I have other kitties sharing my life, both my own and the wonderful kitties I am lucky to visits each day. But I will never forget my special Sadie.
If a cat can be someone’s soulmate, then she was indeed mine…
I know those of you who are grieving the loss of a special pet know the pain I still feel. To help me get past the sadness, I wrote a book about my experiences as the kitty mom to a cat I always knew would leave me early, and about how I got through it when that awful day came. I wrote it in the hope that it would help someone else going through the pain of losing a special furry friend, and they would know that someone else understands.
You can find my book, Sadie’s Heart, on Amazon.com. Although it is a Kindle book, it can also be read on any computer or tablet with the FREE Kindle Cloud Reader. I hope you will take the time to sit down and give it a read. It might make you feel better. Proceeds from the sale of this book will go toward opening the Heart of Hope Cat Center, a sanctuary that we plan to open as soon as we can get the funding in place.
I hope it helps you through the pain of your loss, and helps you remember the love you shared with your special kitty.
