Cash mobs are the newest small business phenomenon to hit small businesses across the country. Simulated after “flash mobs”, cash mobs consist of organized groups of small business supporters that congregate at local businesses for the purpose of spend money at a local business and strenthening the local community. Cash mobbing has picked up rather rapidly, with events already being held in Lincoln, Nebreska, San Diego, California, and even as far away as Sydney, Australia. In general participating cash mobbers meet at a pre-arranged location and they are off to a “secret location” that is a small business at which they will spend $20 a piece. The goal is to get as many people as possible at a local small business and really stimulate the local economy.
For International Cash Mob Day, held on March 24, 2012, cash mobbers in Atlanta, GA will meet at the corner of North Highland Avenue NE and St. Charles Avenue NE at 2:00 pm, look for the blue sign. The organized group will then walk over to the “secret location” that will be cash mobbed. Those that plan on attending:
Please plan to purchase at least $20 from the local shop (cash is always nice because it eliminates credit card machine fees!) and please try to hang around after you make your purchase and support another fantastic local business. Via Cash Mob Atlanta’s Facebook Page
The local business that is designated as the hangout spot after the cash mob takes place is Pozole’s Restaurant. They are offering $3 House Margaritas, $1 Tecate cans and half-off taco plates (excluding specialty tacos) with a receipt from the local store that is to be cash mobbed.
Cash Mob Atlanta urges everyone to attend International Cash Mob Day:
Get excited about pumping some cash into a great local business that provides so many different things for the Atlanta community! Please share this- THE MORE THE BETTER!! Let’s make International Cash Mob Day huge in Atlanta!
