To start last night’s episode of Survivor, Troyzan talked to Jay about their decision to stick with the original Salani members, and they worried they had made the wrong choice. The group received tree mail and guessed at what their challenge would be.
Jeff greeted the group and explained the Reward Challenge to them. He told them their reward would be an afternoon barbecue, complete with a sampling of one bottle of 7 Up for the entire tribe. The group was then divided into two smaller tribes: Jay, Troyzan, Kat, Alicia, and Chelsea (the green tribe) against Michael, Kim, Sabrina, Christina, and Leif (the yellow tribe). Tarzan was not chosen and had to sit out. One at a time, someone from each tribe had to slide down a giant, steep water slide and race across the sand to untie a large wooden crate and carry it back. As more tribe members made it down the slide, they were able to help carry the heavy wooden crates. Once all the crates were back, the smaller tribes had to assemble the crates into a puzzle. In the end, the yellow tribe won reward.
The group headed off to enjoy their reward and quickly stuffed themselves. Kim and Sabrina sat off to the side and discussed the idea that it has to be all girls in the end. Kim suggested they get rid of Mike.
Back at camp, the rest of the tribe went over their options of who to get rid of. The guys suggested Christina, while the girls suggested Mike. The winning part of the tribe brought soda back to share, and game talk was abruptly dropped.
After a rough night and a lot of rain and wind, everyone was feeling grumpy. Tarzan chopped part of the bamboo wall of their shelter to use for firewood, and Tarzan got upset that Chelsea appeared to be judging him. Of course, Tarzan felt the need to talk to her about it. He asked if it was because she had a bad experience with her plastic surgeon when he is a plastic surgeon. Even though she was annoyed, she felt it would be best to keep Tarzan around and vote off a threat.
Kim talked to Troyzan and gave him a made up story of Mike throwing Troy’s name out there as someone who is going to win. She said he was plating the seed in people’s brains. This set Troyzan off.
In the Immunity Challenge, each competitor had to race across a balance beam while maneuvering bags of puzzle pieces along a rope. Just after they began, it started to rain. Jay, Troyzan, Alicia, and Kim made it through to the puzzle portion of the challenge. The others came close, but it was Jay who pulled through with the win.
Jay immediately figured it would be best to send Christina home in an attempt to even things out. Kim went to Troyzan to make sure he was on board to vote out Mike. Chelsea asked Jay’s opinion of sending Mike home, which he was upset about, since she asked in front of Alicia and Christina, who are not in her alliance. Kim was not happy, and she became even less unhappy when she learned Jay and Mike had gone for a walk. Kim did damage control and interrupted Jay by suggesting they vote out Christina.
The decision was pretty obvious by the time the group arrived at Tribal Council. Jeff asked if anyone thought they were in trouble, and no one raised their hand. Kim did a great job of being completely deceiving, and Chelsea chimed right in. The group basically went back and forth about trust and having more than one alliance before Jeff finally announced that it was time to vote. The first four votes were split between Christina and Tarzan, but the rest were for Mike, who was completely blindsided.
