Being sixteen is a wonderful thing!
Planning a party for you sweet sixteen can be lots of fun. Start planning early if you want to throw a big bash. Find out what your teenager wants to do and what they dream of this party being. Make out a list to invite their friends and family. Get it on everyone’s calendar with a “Save the Date’ note.
Once you figure out what you want to do use your imagination and get started. A great theme is a Masquerade Ball.
It all starts with a great idea and build from there. The guest of honor loves blue and feathers and wanted to have a party unlike any other. So that is just what we created.
Blue and metallic gold were the colors we chose. We secured a cupcake baker a year in advance. As the year went by we talked about decorations. Making masks for each guest and inviting them to create and wear their own.
Once we determined the centerpieces would be make of glass vases filled with black glass stones and bright blue feathers we just had to get the details together. Linens in black and white, favors of chocolate roses and masks for each guests at the place setting and a great buffet.
The montage of food included: tea sandwiches, taquitos, a shrimp cocktail ring and veggie crudités. On another table we created a chocolate fountain with dippers like fresh strawberries, pineapple chunks, bananas and marshmallows.
To add some fun we create a mock-tail bar with fresh juices, icy smoothies and sorbet.
Highlights for this theme were musical numbers to line dance as each guest showed off their costume.
The Masquerade Ball is a simple yet elegant idea for teens and adults.
This party plan worked because of great planning with Kaity, Lisa, Kim and lots of help from family.
