Finding a good lunch place is not an easy task, especially in a smaller, very far out suburb of Raleigh-let’s say an hour outside of Raleigh suburb. The chain restaurants are scattered amidst the fast food landscape, but finding that local gem is never too easy. Fortunately for us here in the Sandhills, we have some delicious choices that help your taste buds travel overseas, yet keep you on a local budget.
Thai Orchid, located at 1404 North Sandhills Boulevard in Aberdeen entertains the taste buds with amazing orient flavors Tuesday-Fridays and Sundays for lunch, with an extremely affordable lunch menu that includes salad or spring roll and your choice of fried or steamed rice for under $9.95. For that price, you can customize what meat you’d like to have-seafood being a bit higher priced. The Pad Thai, which was ordered vegetarian style, was overflowing with cabbage, corn, and a colorful array of vegetables mixed in with pan fried national thai rice noodles, egg, spices and peanuts. Supporting the dish were a salad with their house dressing, good enough you may want to bathe in it, and a thai iced tea, creamy, spiced yumminess.
The portions are large compared to the price and you won’t leave the table hungry. Service is quick even though food is made from scratch. Friendly employees are always present, and will get you in and out in under 45 minutes.
Dinner is served 7 days a week, in case you don’t have time for lunch, so check out Thai Orchid on their facebook page and check-in to your table for a delicious meal! For all you healthy eaters out there or “die” with a t-the word I love to hate-there are many options to keep to your weight watcher and/or food plans, so don’t worry about cheating, head to Thai Orchid for a nice change in your daily food routines.
