It’s often said ” March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb”. Weather sayings are colorful and many are based on careful observations that turn out to be accurate, but I don’t know if there is any truth to this saying or not. Astrologically it really makes more sense that March would come in like a lamb (Sun in Pisces) and go out like a lion (Sun in Aries), and that certainly seems to be the case this year. March 2012 will soon be a part of our past and I truly wish I could laugh and say: “April Fool…it was all one long April Fools prank!”
Pay attention during the coming week because it will be hard to distinguish imagination and memory from what’s real in the moment. The interactions of the planets in the sky will be diverse, so expect some drifting and dreaming, as well as some challenges. It will seem as if history is repeating itself, but don’t let that cause you to lose your balance. Hold onto your personal sense of directions, things will be turning around soon.
We’ve been in a “back to the future” mode for a while now, but in April both Mercury and Mars will change directions. Mercury goes first, so the big change coming during the week ahead is that on Wednesday, April 4th, Mercury stations direct and begins inching forward. Additionally, it’s getting ever more difficult to hold back as we get closer and closer to the Mars Station on April 14th. Yes, it would be wonderful if we could breathe a sigh of relief when Mercury begins moving forward, but sadly we must still wait a bit longer to really exhale. April is a transitional month and while life is about to turn around, April is likely to be a bumpy ride. Note: When a planet changes direction in the retrograde process it appears to stand still and astrologers call this a station, and when a planet stands still it is at its most powerful.
On April 4th also, Venus begins her long (April 2012 to August 2012) visit to Gemini, the sign where she will begin her own biennial retrograde in May. Venus in Gemini is fickle and upon her entry into Gemini will also square nebulas Neptune. So on top of the usual travel and communication problems that are to be expected when Mercury changes direction, there could also be some emotional confusion that will cloud your judgment in relationships. (“It’s Raining Men” video in honor of Venus in Gemini square Neptune)
My Advice: Enjoy Sunday April 1st, which looks to be the very best day of the coming week. Anticipate the coming change but have fun on this year’s April Fool’s Day. With the Moon is in colorful and playful Leo there could be some creative, dramatic and fun pranks on the agenda.
