Any Jacksonville Mustang enthusiast, or car enthusiast for that matter, is most likely familiar with the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona that runs for four days on Thanksgiving Weekend. It’s a car event held at Daytona International Speedway with games, raffles, prizes and cars filling up miles and miles of speedway. After the Speedway show, everyone makes their way toward the beaches and down A1A like a crazy car parade. This is when everyone heads to the massive swap meet held at the Bel Air Plaza. Chairs of spectators line up along the road of A1A to watch rat rods, hot rods, muscle cars, and whatever car concoction may drive by.
Turkey Rod Run has been such a hit over the years, that they decided to throw a Spring Rod Run that was this past weekend. This weekend event drew a large crowd and filled the Daytona International Speedway as well in the first annual year. Many Mustangs, some possibly from Jacksonville, were lined up and glistening under the Florida sunshine.
